Building for the Future
Over the past ten years, we have rejoiced to see the Lord gathering in His church in Powassan. Week after week, we have been blessed to worship together on the Lord’s day, and each time He has provided us with various rental facilities that have met our needs. “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” (1 Samuel 7:12)
We have however, also faced challenges over recent years. An increasing number of summer visitors has required more and more planning, set up work, and challenges with rental facilities. We now see an increasing need for a dedicated building that would facilitate worship, and allow us to welcome visitors satisfactorily.
After some time of prayer, researching options, and planning, we have decided to move forward with fundraising for this project and have begun preliminary design work. We plan to move forward in two stages.
In phase one, we are fundraising for the purchase of suitable vacant land. Due to our current financial situation, we have decided that it would be wise to have the full amount for the land as well as a contingency for additional costs in place before making an offer.
In phase two, we will be fundraising for the actual construction project. We anticipate that construction would not commence until spring of 2021 at the very earliest.
We welcome your support for this project. Please pray that the Lord would continue to provide a place for us to worship, give us wisdom throughout this process (James 1:5), and please consider if you are able to help.
If you are able to help us financially, this can be done in one of the following ways:
- Fill out and send in a Pledge Form and we will contact you when funds are needed. E-mail or mailing address are on the pledge form.
- Via cheque to “Hope Reformed Church” with “Building Fund” on subject line. Please send to the mailing address at the bottom of the Pledge Form and include your contact information so that we can send you a receipt.
- You can donate online here: Canada Helps.
